I am LeeAnn Shattuck, President and Founder of Skate Devil, Inc., and I am one of those people - a crazy adult skater who has been dragging skates across the country and around the world for nearly 30 years.

My inspiration for starting this company came from my friend and fellow adult skater, Janice. One day, Janice has asked me to make sure that, when she dies (some day FAR in the future), she is buried with her skates. Although as a Jew, she is not permitted by her religion to be buried with any material possessions, Janice is determined to defy the traditions of her faith because, "if I get to heaven and there's an ice rink, I'm going to be prepared!!!" I thought, "Now that's dedication"!

So, thank you to Janice and all the other crazy adult skaters in the Pineville Ice House Coffee Club for giving me the courage to leave my 80 hour-a-week IT job and start my own company so I could spend more time on the ice. After all, what's more important than skating?
